When a customer returns goods or you cancel a reported invoice, you can report a credit note (tax document type 381) that reverses the original with the authority. The credit note references the reported invoice and gets its own QR code and identifiers.

- Open an invoice you have already reported to the tax authority (status Reported or Test submission).
- In the Tax e-invoicing panel, find the Credit note (return) section below the invoice status.
- Enter a short reason for the return (for example, “Customer returned the goods”).
- Optionally click Preview credit note XML to review the exact document before sending.
- Click Report credit note. The status updates to Reported (or Test submission) with its own QR code and authority UUID.
A credit note can only be reported after the invoice itself is reported, and is never reported twice once accepted. The exact XML sent to the authority is stored for your audit trail — download it any time with Download reported XML.
Tip: Keep the return reason clear and specific — the authority stores it with the credit note.
